The winning cake in 2014 was made by the three-person team of Danielle Bachant-Bell, Cheryl Munson, and Caroline Clay. It depicted the circa-1910 smokehouse at the Hinkle-Garton Farmstead on Bloomington’s east side. Using maple syrup produced at the Farmstead, they made the cake according to recipes for “Buttermilk Maple Spice Cake” and “Maple Butter Frosting” in The Maple Syrup Cookbook by Ken Haedrich.
